You’ve done it. You’ve finally finished school and it’s time to move out on your own and face the world. But where would you move to? Would you stay close to home and continue to live in the community you grew up in? Or would start your future life in a new place? Will you go where your career takes you? Or will decide on the place in the world you want to live and start a career there?

If you could live the rest of your life in any place, where would you choose and why?

Do you socialize more virtually than you do in reality?

There are lots of adults out there who are scratching their heads and trying to figure you guys out. Some people refer to you as the Net Generation or Digital Natives because you have never known a time without the internet and all that it has brought to the world. Many of these adults wonder and worry about how your future will be different than earlier generations because of this.

Read the brief write-up on The New York Times Learning Network and answer the questions they pose to students:

Do you have enough opportunities to interact with peers in spontaneous, real ways? Do you think there’s a link between the rise of media and the increase in bullying? How can schools and parents help kids take part more in “the real social world”?

Or just write about what you think of all this adult worry and analysis about your exposure to technology.

What do you think will happen in the future? Will there be flying cars? Will it all stay the same? What will the government be like in the future? Will racism still exist?

Also, you may talk about your future in particular, how you think your life will unfold. What jobs will you have, what job are you planning to have? etc.
